Fresh content. Two key words Avis employed in the battle to win Google search engine rankings.

It began with a pretty clear objective: Help Avis become No.1 on Google for self-drive holidays by providing fresh content and getting further up the tourist’s decision-making path.

Indiego has a 3-step process we apply to every job we do: Scoping, Strategy, Solution. So we started out with a white board session. This helped Rose refine the objectives and establish a plan of action, budget, time-line.

Next up, our SEO/Digital designer worked with the client to flesh out ways the SEO strategy could be maximized through key words, ad words and original content - and assist with page templates.

Then Simon segmented NZ into regions and dug out local insights on the best routes, attractions and fascinating tips. For this, he created a regional overview, an itinerary for a days scenic driving around the region and a few ‘off the beaten track’ locations for repeat visitors.

With this signed off, he was on his way doing a virtual drive through the whole of New Zealand and creating witty, compelling content. (As a journalist/social media and advertising guy, he was able to combine all three skills to devastating effect).

The result? Almost as soon as the content was up, the Google engines rocketed Avis to No. 1 for 'self-drive' related searches.
